This translation report is based on the book Win–Win: How International Trade Can Help Meet the Sustainable Development Goals,a publication of Asian Development Bank Institute in 2017.The book explains the links between trade and other areas related to SDGs,such as poverty,employment,education,inequality,environment,climate change,urbanization,water and food safety and provides an authoritative and encompassing analysis on the role trade can play.The selected text mainly explains the connections between trade and water and how international trade can help solve water crisis.This translation report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a brief introduction to the background,objectives and significance of the project.The second part describes the preparation work before the translation,including the introduction and the analysis of the original text of the translation project.The third part includes the translation difficulty analysis and solutions to the translation project and chooses appropriate translation theory as a guidance.It is also the main part of this translation report.The source text contains a host of specialized words and abbreviations as well as many complicated sentences which need to be understood through detailed reading and analysis.The translator,under the guidance of the theory of communicative translation which emphasizes the readership of the translation,analyzes and summarizes the difficulties encountered in the translation process and presents analysis of some translation techniques applied during the translation process.The fourth part is a summary of translation practice,expounding the translator's experience in the process of this translation project and the problems to be solved.
