The Right To Water is one of the series of water culture edited by Farhana Sultana,Assistant Professor of Geography at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University and Alex Loftus,Lecturer in Geography at Royal Holloway,University of London. The whole book is more than 250 thousand words. It was published at Routledge press in America in 2013,and at present there is no translation in China.Bringing together a unique range of academics,policy-makers and activists, the book analyzes how struggles for the right to water have attempted to translate moral arguments over access to safe water into workable claims. The Right To Water is also the world's most cutting-edge research on the right to water.Based on this book, the author has combined Peter Newmark's linguistic function and text type theory and communicative translation theory to write the translation report of The Right To Water. The translation report consists of four parts. The first chapter describes the task of translation, including the background of the translation project, the project profile, the significance and structure of the project. The second chapter introduces the process of translation, which mainly includes the preparation process of pre-translation,first draft of translation, revision draft and the final draft. The third chapter is the main content of the article.Based on the case analysis,I mainly analyze the problems encountered in translation and its solutions. The fourth chapter summarizes the shortcomings and the gains from translation.
