The English curriculum standards clearly put forward that basic education should lay a good foundation for students 'physical and mental health development,lay a good foundation for students' future learning,and lay a foundation for students to go to society.However,there is great room for development between the general requirements of national curriculum standards and the implementation of English curriculum in schools at all levels.Primary school is not the same as junior high school in compulsory education;Urban and rural areas are not the same.Especially in rural areas,due to the constraints of teachers,students,equipment,educational concepts,and exam-oriented education,English education and teaching need to study and solve many problems.This article takes rural junior high school English teaching as the view domain,takes residential course as the entry point,tries to improve the quality and level of rural junior high school English teaching through the development of rural junior high school English residential course form.The so-called residential course refers to the use of time and space other than classroom teaching,and has a purpose,a plan,and an organized education to influence activities.Based on constructivist philosophy and curriculum theory,this article aims at the teachers and students of N school,through questionnaires,interviews,etc.,to make a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the current situation of residential courses and their practices,and use IBM SPSS Science 19.0 software to organize data.The author tries to find out the problems and sticking points in the course of English residential study and its practice,and puts forward some reform measures.The survey found that the education management department or school did not develop the curriculum enough,the education and research funds were insufficient,the teacher's curriculum awareness was not high,and the school-based curriculum was not high in quality;Students learn English with unclear goals,inappropriate learning methods,low interest in learning,weak atmosphere,improper methods,poor results,students like the lack of courses.In view of the above problems,this paper puts forward the idea of development of residential course and constructs some principles of content selection of residential course.In this article,according to the learner's experience and psychological needs,Set up courses such as "English Songs","English Stories","Campus English Communication Commonly Used Oral","English Small Composition","English Diary","English Applied Writing" and other study courses.It is beneficial to improve students 'interest in English learning,create campus English learning atmosphere,improve students' English learning methods and strategies,and improve students 'English learning results.
