The Performance Research Of Yao Hernglu's Piano Suite "TWELVE ANIMAL ZODIAC"

Yao Henglu is a famous composer and music theorist in China.Through Chinese people understand and inherit the culture of Chinese zodiac,"Twelve Animal Zodiac",which from Professor Yao Henglu's piano suite,created music that match every animal's character.It combined the traditional cultural elements and the modern composing techniques.It described the remarkable characteristics of Chinese Zodiac in Chinese mind for thousands of years.This article is divided into four parts: The first part mainly introduces the composer Yao Henglu's artistic career and the background of the piano suite "The Twelve Zodiac".It's helpful for us to do research better.The second part analyses the macro-tonal layout,national harmony characteristics,rhythm and speed of the piano suite "Twelve Animal Zodiac" from music-in-itself.We analyze the suite from high level with more details.The composer combines the elements of traditional Chinese culture with modern western composing techniques.It reflects the thinking of the combining Chinese and Western which he insists on his musical works all the time.It foreshadows the theoretical foundation for analysis of piano performance in the next part.The third part analyses the performance of the piano suite The Twelve Zodiac.From the keystroke mode,rhythm,pedal and other aspects of analysis,combined with the second part of the music theory analysis,so as to better reflect the music image and sound characteristics of this piano work.It provides a reference for performance and teaching in the future.The fourth part thinks about the Chinese piano music by researching "Twelve Animal Zodiac"Through the music ontology analysis and Performance Research of Yao Henglu's piano suite "The Twelve Zodiac",combined with the author's learning experience and performance experience,this paper provides some reasonable suggestions for the performance and teaching of "The Twelve Zodiac".
