A Study Towards Group Images Of Female In "Big Heroine" Plays

Costume drama is a kind of drama with Chinese characteristics,which plays a vital role in the spread of Chinese culture.Throughout the development of costume dramas,great changes have taken place in the shaping of female images.It is the re-writing and re-shaping of female characters in the plays that gradually put women at the core created the present "big heroine" plays."ZhenHuan Biography","ChuQiao Biography" and "The flowers were in full bloom that year" respectively taking Zhen Huan,Chu Qiao and Zhou Ying as the main female images,endowing them with social images as palace woman,general and business women,incorporating consciousness changes of feminist,in an attempt to break the usual position of "the others" and "peeped at" female images in "big heroine" plays.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part defines the relevant concepts and summarizes the development and changes of female images in "big heroine" plays.The second part is the central point of the paper.Starting with the linguistic and non-linguistic symbols of the heroine image,the foil female image and the foil male image,this paper makes a descriptive analysis of the construction of the female image in "big heroine" plays,and finds out the changes of the female image in this kind of play.Combined with feminist theory,the group images of female in the three plays are compared to restore the real social status of women.The third part,through comparative analysis,concludes the reasons and significance of the changes in female images,in order to obtain enlightenment and reflection for the shaping of female images in the future "big heroine" plays.Nowadays,a large number of "big heroine" plays which are female-centered and spread female's ideas are indeed conducive to breaking the misleading stereotypes and reflecting the real social status of women.By changing the female image in "big heroine" plays to show the changes of modern audience's ideological values,it has indeed played a substantial role in promoting female's consciousness and improving female's social status.
