A Study On The Literary And Colloquial Reading Of Fuan Dialect

Different pronunciation of Min dialect is a hot topic in the study of Chinese dialect,especially in southern Fujian dialect.Fuan dialect,as the representative dialect of the northern part of the Eastern Fujian dialect,also has a large number of literary and colloquial reading phenomena.The characteristics of traditional studies are mainly analyzed from the perspective of phonology and historical linguistics,rarely considering the relationship between literary and vernacular reading and social factors.In view of this,this paper,based on the research theories of historical linguistics and sociolinguistics,combines synchronic and diachronic,descriptive and explanatory approaches,and concentrates on the literary and colloquial reading of Fuan dialect in the northern part of'Eastern Fujian dialect.Firstly,on the basis of the phonological system of Fuan dialect,this paper investigates the distribution of vernacular and colloquial pronunciation in the phonetic structure of Fuan dialect,mainly describing seven types corresponding to the vernacular and colloquial pronunciation of Fuan dialect,of which the second type is the most prominent.By comparing with other dialects in Fujian,this paper summarizes and reveals the consistency and difference of their characteristics.Secondly,on the basis of previous studies,this paper attempts to make a hierarchical analysis of the colloquial pronunciation of the consonants and vowels in Fuan dialect from the perspective of historical linguistics.It holds that the colloquial pronunciation of Fuan dialect is mostly in the upper stratum,and the literary pronunciation reflects more the levels of the Middle Sui and Tang Dynasties and later.Thirdly,based on the theories and methods of sociolinguistics,this paper analyses the social distribution of vernacular and colloquial reading in Fuan dialect.On the one hand,the use of Fuan dialect is discussed by means of questionnaires,which explains the background of the social distribution of vernacular and colloquial reading in Fuan dialect.on the other hand,the intergenerational differences of Fuan dialect's vernacular and colloquial pronunciation are emphatically analyzed,and at the same time,the differences of social factors such as gender,occupation and education level are also discussed.It is believed that the middle-aged people have the highest Luse of vernacular and colloquial pronunciation,Finally,from the perspective of-ideology,social economy and culture,this paper analyses the causes of the social differences in literary and colloquial reading in Fuan dialect.
