The history of industrial civilization can be understood from a perspective as the history of conquering the night.Artists are in some ways the role of recording the times and history.Therefore,the night theme works created by artists are a unique way to record human history.From them,we can read the influence of industrial technology on painting,and vice versa.We can also read the changes and technological advances of the artist's time.This paper adopts comparative research methods in the sense of Philology and imaging to analyze the evolution of the painting of Western night scenes and the linguistic and technical characteristics of classical works.It tries to explore the progress of the times behind these works and how painters use night scene tools to record the times,express themselves,and place their emotions in different social contexts. |
