As everyone knows,Leo Tolstoy is a famous writer in Russia and the world.Arishima Takeo is a well-known progressive writer in Japan.In the "Hot Wind ·Record of the Sixty-third essay ·‘With the Young'",Lu Xun praised Arishima Tak eo as "an awakened person" in the bourgeoisie.Their progressive thought is reflect ed in their works.The thoughts and creations of Arishima Takeo were influenced by Tolstoy in some cases and he was called "Tolstoy of Japan".This article uses the impact studies,including "doxologie","crénologie","mesolog ie" and other research methods.Arishima Takeo was influenced by Leo Tolstoy in "Peasant literature" and "Aristocratic literature".In this article,the writing characterist ics of two writers were compared in these two areas.The first chapter of this paper briefly discusses the respective life background s of Tolstoy and Arishima Takeo before they started their formal literary career a nd analysis the religious views of them.In order to make a deep study of the sim ilarities and differences between their literatures.The second chapter of this paper makes a comparative study of Tolstoy and Arishima Takeo's "Peasant literature." Most of Tolstoy's articles belong to peasant literature and a few works of Arishima Takeo are peasant literature.But many pa pers by Arishima Takeo have profoundly discussed the tragic fate and social reas ons of the peasants.The second chapter selects several articles of Tolstoy including "A Morning of a Landlord" and "Poly Kushka" and compares several articles with Arishima Takeo including "The Descendants of Cain" and "Father and Son".Both Tolstoy and Arishima Takeo are big landlords.By comparing the two people's vie ws on landlords,peasants and land liberation,they demonstrate the unique characteri stics of the two writers' humanitarian thoughts.Arishima Takeo drew the essence f rom Tolstoy's thoughts and surpassed Tolstoy.he gave his vast land to the farmers without the charge.The shining image of him appears in the Chinese writer Lian g Shanding's "Green Valley".Tolstoy and Arishima Takeo were not writers who lived in ivory towers.Their works were highly concerned about society.With the expansion of the creative field,their creation evolved from peasant literature to aristocratic literature.Paying atte ntion to female self-awakenings and self-awareness is a common feature of Tolsto y and Arishima Takeo literature.The third chapter compares "Anna Karenina" with the female self-consciousness of Arishima Takeo's "YeZi".When Arishima Take o read "Anna Karenina",his heart had a strong resonance and wrote some ideas in "YeZi".The two works had obvious difference of characteristics.It highlighted th e importance of God("God is supreme")in "Anna Karenina" and people oriented("personality is paramount")in "YeZi".
