The practice report is about simulated Chinese-to-English simultaneous interpretation.It aims to accumulate practical experience and improve the interpreting performance through a mock simultaneous interpretation of a real event.The chosen material is the Education Sub-forum of “2018 China Internet Plus Digital Economy Summit”.The theme of the forum is “Building Digital Campus for Innovation and Win-Win”,which is mainly about Internet Plus education.Three guests are invited to deliver speeches on this theme,and discuss what the Internet Plus Education will be like in the future.In the source language,the speakers deliver their speeches in a high speed,with few stops and much redundant information.In addition,the material contains a lot of professional terms as well as much complex information.So the challenges facing the interpreter are information loss and misinterpreting.After classifying above difficulties encountered in the practice,the interpreter makes deep analysis.Then,the interpreter selects Syntactic Linearity Theory as guidance.He also adopts four techniques combined with the theory to solve these difficulties in interpreting,including interpretation,anticipation,amplification,and conversion.Through rigorous analysis of the practice,the author has realized he should further improve bilingual competence,accumulate encyclopedic knowledge and research translation theories to become a qualified interpreter.Additionally,the author hopes to share his own experience to provide reference for other interpreting lovers.
