This is a practical report of the mock C-E simultaneous interpreting.The material is the video of Financial Forum of the “2018 Internet Plus Digital Economy Summit”.The aim is to create opportunities for the author to practice interpretation by simulating the event,so as to improve her interpreting.The theme of the forum is “Smart Finance,Urban Momentum”.The material contains four speeches,covering a large amount of financial and Internet industry knowledge.The linguistic features of the source language are high speed,much intensive and redundant information as well as a lot of professional information.Given the features of source language and tension of the interpreter,the challenges facing the author are information loss and misinterpreting.In allusion to above problems,the author chooses Syntactic Linearity Theory as the guiding principle,and applies the techniques of interpretation,omission,addition and conversion as the coping strategies according to different difficulties.The author has conducted the simultaneous interpreting and recorded the whole process.After the interpreting,the author has organized the recording into text for summary and analysis.This report records the whole process of simultaneous interpretation in detail.The author has realized her shortcomings through this practice.To become a qualified interpreter,the author should continue to improve bilingual competence,accumulate encyclopedic knowledge and research translation theories.Additionally,the author hopes to share her own experience with other interpreting lovers.
