Research On Deer-theme Flower And Bird Painting

Generally,“themes” refer to the materials used in the paintings to express the theme.It is the scenery that the artist transform into the artistic image through observation,choice and refinement,and it is one of the elements of the painting.The concept of the work and the process of the painting are all around the theme.For traditional Chinese flower-and-bird paintings,the choice of the object to be drawn,such as trees and flowers,stones and bamboos,birds and fish and so on,is not limited to the object itself.It is also based on the “symbol” and “emphasis” in cultural traditions,as well as the artist's personal aesthetic.And then the artist start art creation.From “Zhuangzhou Dreamt of Butterfly”,“who knows the joy of fish if you are not fish”,to the view of literati painting,all emphasize the transcendence of the individual's inner world and aim to achieve the understanding of the Tao.The choice of the theme of the flower-and-bird painting in the later period was influenced by Wang Yangming's thought of “studying the nature of things to acquire knowledge”.The literary records of Chinese animal subjects and the history of paintings on animals are very long.There are many literary and painting works related to deer in the past.Deer is endowed with rich cultural symbolic connotations.There are many classical paintings of deer remained ever.This paper explores the early cultural meaning of the deer image,combs the paintings on deer,analyzes the paintings techniques,the structure of the ink and the expression of the artistic conception of the famous works,and then explores how the painting theme maintains the continuity of vitality in different eras.Through traceability of the auspicious culture tradition,it provides a reference for the formation of the painting language in the author's flower-and-bird painting creation,in order to find the possibility of the painting language with the spirit of the times from the traditional aesthetics and open the way for the author to deal with the relationship between tradition and innovation,and then find a law of art for my creative expression.
