Analysis On The Painting Of Gathering At Xitang By Wen Zhengming

In middle and late Ming Dynasty,the political environment gradually seemed to be more easing and comfortable than the early period of Ming Dynasty.In addition,with the economic development,it had good social background for the resuscitation of culture and art.Especially at the beginning of capitalism development,in Wujun,the previous name of Suzhou,with profound cultural accumulation,Painting School of Wujun,with the representatives like Shen Zhou,Wen Zhengming,Tang Yin and Chou Ying,has emerged and developed rapidly.And,it even played a leading role in the painting and calligraphy circle nationwide.In the meantime,with comprehensive artistic cultivation and everlasting artistic life,Wen Zhengming has been the most important character in leading Painting School of Wujun for over 50 years.In the thesis,it focuses on excellent works called the Painting of Gathering at Xitang created by Wen Zhengming in 1541,the Year Xinchou of Jiajing Period.Through the research on the theme,composition,painting,coloring and style,it tries to make the readers learn artistic world of Wen Zhengming.Then,it can be reflected the then social background of intellectuals of Painting School of Wujun in the middle of Ming Dynasty.
