According to traditional Chinese philosophy,“Qi” is the essence of all things.In this ideology,Chinese traditional aesthetics to the same "gas" is beauty.At the same time,from the perspective of modern science,oxygen is one of the necessary conditions for life activities.This paper focuses on "Qixi" as a key element in Erhu performance.It studies “Qixi” from two levels of material and consciousness,and elaborates on the application of breath in each level in detail.It further clarifies the application method of “Qixi” in specific performance combined with practice.The main content of this paper consists of two chapters and conclusions.The first chapter is the theoretical part.Firstly,the concept of “Qixi” in Erhu performance is recognized and defined from the two levels of material and consciousness.Then it summarizes the methodology corresponding to each level of meaning.The second chapter is the practice part,which applies the theoretical results to practice.Taking Erhu Concerto “The True Hearted” as an example,this paper analyses the specific application methods of “Qixi” in performance practice,and discusses the choice of different treatment methods in performance.In conclusion,the theory and practice of“Qixi” application in Erhu performance are highly summarized.This paper avoids the overgeneralization of the concept of “Qixi” by recognizing the different characteristics of the meaning of breath at each level.For different levels of “Qixi”,it puts forward more specific methods of application,mode of thinking and accumulation.In the practical analysis of actual works,the concept of “Qixi” is further embodied.Through the analysis of specific problems,the application of “Qixi” in Erhu performance is further clarified.
