Henryk Wieniawski is not only a famous Polish violinist in the 19th century,but also a distinguished composer in the romantic period,who is honored as the most outstanding violin genius after Niccolo Paganini.His works show bold and heroic Slavic feelings as well as delicate and gorgeous romantic styles.Moreover,his achievements in the composition and playing techniques of violin have great significance,and also exert a profound influence on the violin history and playing styles of late romantic period.The thesis consists of three chapters.Chapter One is about the life and compositional style of Henryk Wieniawski.Chapter Two is the work analysis of the Theme Fantasia of Faust Combining its connection with the Gounod operetta,1 analyzed this work from the perspectives of the narrativity and theatricality of music.Chapter Three,the most important part of this thesis,is about my inner self-experience while playing this repertoire.It will be demonstrated in detail from the aspects of its typical right and left hands' technique and self-experience.
