With the rapid development of Internet media,city promotional films have become a necessary part of the fierce competition among cities.Firstly,this paper makes a horizontal analysis of the city image promotional films in Chengdu in recent years.On the basis of Saussure's semiotic signifier and Roland Barthes' cross-combination and vertical convergence,it makes an analysis of the narrative theme and narrative strategies,and summarizes the micro-film narrative,documentary narrative,cross-cultural narrative and MV-type music narrative modes of the city promotional films in Chengdu.Secondly,this paper makes a narrative analysis of the excellent urban promotional films at home and abroad,and points out that the core of urban promotional films lies in choosing appropriate narrative methods,especially when the audience is overseas audiences,more attention should be paid to the globalization of narrative symbols.Finally,based on the analysis of Chengdu image promotional film and excellent promotional film,the shortcomings of Chengdu image promotional film are summarized.It is believed that Chengdu city promotional film still has the shortcomings of contradictory city image,deviation of city image in image content and duplication of image text.And put forward the corresponding suggestions,think that the dissemination effect of Chengdu city propaganda film can be improved from three aspects: positioning strategy,creative strategy and content strategy.
