The promotional film of city is an important part of soft power of the city, the city-image building has become one crucial method in China. From concept to behavior, from behavior to the visual system, from the visual system to the cultural and psychological reconstruction, City-image building can maximize the social value and explore the city cultural attribute. Good city promotional film not only increases the charm of the city, but also expands the influence of outside and promotes economic growth to enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of the city.In 1999, the first city publicity film was made in Weihai of Shandong province, after nearly 20 years of development, The promotional film of city with a variety of creative means and powerful promotion function for the city’s tourism promotion, project bidding, exchanges and cooperation has made great contributions, become the media world of a lean "assault squad".This paperwork tries to summarize the development of promotional film and at the same time, to explore the city publicity type. Meantime, examples of city publicity film made by Yangzhou TV will also be introduced in this thesis, through the above materials, I try to analyze shortfalls of city publicity film and put forward the corresponding construction measures, which may provide some useful thinking to urban image construction in China.Urban marketing, Communication Studies and film aesthetics were involved in this article, good f promotional film of city is to build up the image of the city, good works should define the purpose and audience of the city image, broaden the film image of the city broadcasting channels and scope, so that the film image of the city for the comprehensive development of the city and make greater contribution.
