A Study On The Educational Thought Of Female Virtue In The Women's Four Books

Before acting or thinking,the ancestors of China used to presuppose a cosmological model concept as the ideological premise,and take it as the basis of their own words,deeds and thoughts.What's more,it is the Chinese cultural tradition that to achieve the human being in the Tao and meanwhile to achieve the Tao in the humanity.During the development of human society,the ancient society was not a "human relations world" because human beings that time only knew that there were mother but no father.Only after it had formed the social organization of family that the human moral order formed.Therefore,as a human being,the concept system of "what is human" and "what should human be" has came into being,which gradually forms the ethical and moral outlook belonging to the human world,and the law of ethics and morality has also became the basic rule of human beings.In the unified world composed of the order of human relations and all other things,the ethical existence of human beings is the supreme existence of the Tao.In this sense,the view of the organic and unified world is the philosophical view that guides the survival and development of our Chinese,and it's also the philosophical basis for the education of women's virtues in ancient China.There are two basic principles in ancient Chinese education: provide education for all people without discrimination,and,teach according to one's aptitude.The former means that in terms of universality,all people should receive education;The latter means that in terms of particularity,people of different ages,different occupations and different ethical roles should have different and specific educational contents.Women's virtue education is the specific performance of the principle of the latter one.Although the moral rules on women in the Women's Four Books are based on the moral requirements of women's specific ethical roles,they are not "one-way" moral stipulations only for women,because in Chinese moral practice,all virtues are "two-way" stipulations in specific ethical relations,such as,"wife's virtue" must corresponds to "husband's virtue","mother's kindness" must corresponds to “kid's filial piety”.The two corresponding virtues in the ethical relationship will achieve higher unity at the level of "Tao".
