| ‘Symmetrical bird-pattern',the common Chinese traditional auspicious bird-patterns,is one of the categories of symmetrical patterns in China.In this paper,‘symmetrical bird-pattern' refers to the pairs of auspicious bird-patterns in various symmetrical forms.The cultural connotation of ‘symmetrical bird-pattern 'is profound.Through the inheritance and evolution of different dynasties,it has gradually presented the beauty of symmetry and equilibrium of ‘unparalleled and complementary' and symmetrical concept of ‘twinning and happiness'.Beginning with the study of the definitions of ‘symmetrical bird-pattern',the paper differentiates the meanings of ‘Symmetry',‘Symmetrical bird-pattern' and other related concepts.Then according to the two significant formats of absolute symmetry and relative symmetry of ‘symmetrical bird-pattern ',it analyzes the symmetrical forms and evolution characteristics of ‘symmetrical bird-pattern'.In addition,it analyzes the various combination modes of the elements of ‘symmetrical bird-pattern'.Finally,Combined with the cases,it probes into the purpose of the combination,and discovers the cultural implication contained in it.Through the research of this paper,first,the scattered concept and fragmented knowledge of ‘symmetrical bird-pattern' which is familiar and vague are collected and summarized.Second,by sorting out the texture of the traditional auspicious bird-pattern which is symmetrical in the past dynasties,the author thoroughly studies the characteristics of the core composition of the ‘ symmetrical bird-pattern',and finds out the law of the composition.Furthermore,all these understandings are established as a whole framework,and the relevant characteristics and laws are applied to the author's graduation project.At the same time,it's hoped that the cognition and practice ofthis paper can provide a relatively complete reference to the research and innovative design of auspicious patterns. |
