In order to take the responsibilities better,the National Forestry and Grassland Bureau has paid attention to the latest information on forestry conventions and has irregularly published the Reference for Climate Change,Biodiversity and Desertification.This report is based on this English-Chinese project which includes annual reports,executive summaries and the latest progress of forestry conventions.The project result is the internal referential publication of the National Forestry and Grassland Bureau,involving a large amount of forestry and ecology knowledge.Therefore,the implementation of the project will be helpful for the translator to get knowledge of related fieldsThis report with 15,000 words is divided into four parts.The first part is a brief summary of the report.The second part is the project introduction,including the project background,project objectives and project significance.The third part summarizes the project implementation plan,mainly from three aspects:pre-translation preparation,translation implementation and post-translation review.During the pre-translation preparation,the author analyzes the original text,determines the overall translation strategy,learns background knowledge,and uses translation aids.With case studies,the fourth part explores the translation skills which aim to achieve the equivalence between the original text and the target from the aspects of vocabulary,sentence and discourse,such as word meaning selection,part of speech conversion,word order adjustment.The last part concludes difficulties or inadequacies,as well as gains during the translation.
