Agricultural and forestry science literature has become a vital source which satisfies the demand for advanced science information. With the continuous advancement of agricultural cooperation between countries in the world,English agricultural and forestry science literature has become an indispensable part for Chinese scientists to learn the international frontier information on agriculture and forestry.Therefore,E-C science literature translation is becoming increasingly significant in China. This report, from the perspective of eco-translatology,discusses agricultural and forestry science literature translation and is hoped to provide corresponding translation methods for resolving the problems that may occur during the translation practice. At present, with more attention paid to ecology,eco-translatology arises with people's concern about ecological problems.According to eco-translatology,the best translation can only be achieved by depending on selective adaptation and adaptive selection from linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension. This study holds that agricultural and forestry science literature translation should be conducted from these three dimensions.More specifically, adaptive selection and transformation from linguistic dimension can be achieved by such translation methods as deletion, addition and conversion to address the problems of information redundancy, information shortage, and so on.From cultural dimension, division, linear translation and reverse translation can be applied to address difficult and long sentences, etc. To communicative dimension, adaptation and zero translation can be used to solve problems of logical confusion. The three-dimensional transformations of eco-translatology provides a new perspective for the translation studies of agricultural and forestry science and technology literature.
