This report is written based on a practical English-Chinese translation project named European MOOCs,a collection of papers on the analysis of the current situation and future development of European MOOCs.The author is responsible for the translation of the fourth chapter "Business Models of European MOOCs".In this chapter,different professors comprehensively interpret the business models needed for developing MOOCs,and the mistakes that decision-makers may make while running MOOCs.Besides,the professors express their opinions on the future of MOOCs.The articles are academic papers,the style of which is plain while the expressions are precise,so that readers can learn some relevant business knowledge at the greatest extent.Therefore,it will help promote the development of MOOCs in our country.In this report,the author uses the Dynamic Equivalence Theory of "faithfulness and smoothness"and "functional equivalence" as the overall translation principle,and explores the translation strategies of professional terms and proper nouns,English sentences and discourse.In terms of lexical translation,the author mainly uses free translation,amplification and word conversion to make the translation more fluent and faithful.In terms of sentences,the author mainly adopts the translation methods such as the counter-grammar,amplification and division to ensure that the sentences are semantically coherent and smooth.In terms of discourse,the author centers on coherence and analyzes the translation to ensure the normal communicative function of the language.Finally,the author summarizes the problems and shortcomings in this translation task.Through this translation project,the author has learned the relevant knowledge of the MOOCs and has accumulated a certain amount of translation experience.Based on that,the author writes a practical translation report,hoping to provide certain value to all educators,translators and translation amateurs.
