Emotional eating is a behavioral pattern of overeating in response to negative emotions.Emotional eaters cannot distinguish between hunger and other signs of discomfort, and may overeat when they are uncomfortable or nervous.Emotional eating has a very important impact on the development of individual physical and mental health, and is a common clinical symptom of eating disorders, depression and other mental disorders.Under the critical period of physical and mental development, college students begin to live independently in a new environment, and they are prone to excessive eating in the face of various pressures in university life. This study investigated the overall situation of emotional eating, and further understood the possible influencing factors of emotional eating, which is of great significance to effectively improve emotional eating behavior of college students. In this study,459 college students were tested with the Adolescent Self Rating Life Event Checklist,Dysfunctional Attitude Scale and Emotional Eating subscale in the Dutch Dietary Behavior Questionnaire. The study analyzes the current situation of emotional eating, the relationship between college students' life events, dysfunctional attitudes and emotional eating, and designs interventions from the perspective of changing dysfunctional attitudes, and explores its effectiveness by experimental methods. The research results are as follows:(1)The emotional eating status of college students was at the lower level;Emotional eating is significantly different in gender and grade. The emotional eating scores of female students were significantly higher than that of male students, and the emotional eating scores of freshmen were significantly lower than those of other three grades(2)There is a significant positive correlation between emotional eating behavior and life events, and their various dimensions.Life events have a positive predictive effect on emotional eating. In addition to the cognitive philosophical dimension, there is a significant positive correlation between dysfunctional attitudes and their various dimensions and emotional eating. The predictive effect of dysfunctional attitudes on emotional eating is positive.Dysfunctional attitude plays as a moderated role between life events and emotional eating. In individuals with high dysfunctional attitudes, life events predicted emotional eating more positively(3)Interventions based on dysfunctional attitudes have effectively reduced college students' emotional eating behavior, not only have good immediate effects, but also have good tracking effects.Based on the above research results, the following conclusions are drawn:Compared with males, the current situation of emotional eating in females is significantly more serious;compared with freshmen, the current situation of emotional eating in sophomores, juniors and seniors is significantly more serious;emotional eating was significantly correlated with dysfunctional attitudes and life events, and the predictive effect of life events on emotional eating was moderated by dysfunctional attitudes;intervention program based on dysfunctional attitude change can effectively improve emotional eating.
