With the advancement of the new round of curriculum reform,the teaching mode has changed fundamentally,from the original teacher-centered to student-centered.The function of education has also changed from imparting knowledge and skills to cultivating students',all-round development,and the core of teaching has changed from"knowledge" to "people".In the process of these changes,along with the reform of teaching,there is a "contradiction between supply and demand" between students,individualized development needs and teaching resources provided by schools.Taking junior middle school English teaching as an example,there are great differences among students in English proficiency,learning ability,language ability and language habits.Moreover,there are differences in learning styles and multiple intelligences among students.Therefore,different students have different needs and abilities for English learning.How to make every student learn in their own learning ability range?Differential teaching provides us with a way to explore.Differential teaching just conforms to the purpose of "facing different students,implementing different teaching,promoting different development".The so-called differentiated teaching is a kind of teaching activity for talent cultivation organized in the educational system according to the different interest orientation and talent differences.Through this kind of activity,the teacher guides the students to study actively and consciously purposefully,planned and organized,promotes the students' special ability to improve rapidly,and makes them become professionals needed by the society.Teachers should not only recognize the differences between students,but also pay more attention to the development of students' potential.Teachers should face up to and pay attention to students' differences and implement differentiated teaching so as to promote students'differentiated development.Differentiated teaching is undoubtedly the most effective way to improve the level of education and teaching,to promote the development of students' personality,and to stimulate students' inherent potential.It is also the general trend of junior high school English education.Based on the differences among the educatees and taking education and teaching as the research object,this paper analyses the current situation and problems of differentiated English teaching in junior middle schools from many aspects.On the premise of consulting relevant domestic and foreign research materials and achievements,this paper puts forward the reform of the teaching mode of "differentiated English teaching" in Junior middle schools as the carrier and the way of "differentiated teaching",and advances in teaching.Relevant practices,exchanges,surveys,analyses and reflections have been carried out,and problems have been elaborated in order to promote the development of differentiated teaching in the teaching reform,implement the development concept of "people-oriented" in the new curriculum and the goal of "for the development of every student".
