Personal Knowledge Management(PKM)has become a very hot topic in recent years both at home and abroad.This study takes English teachers in senior high schools as the research object,and conducts a questionnaire survey on English teachers in senior high schools in China by using the method of knowledge management theory and practical investigation.Three levels and seven latitudes are divided for teacher knowledge management.The three levels refer to the knowledge management in the pre-class self-preparation stage,in the classroom teaching practice stage and in the post-class self-improvement stage.The first level is divided into two latitudes: knowledge acquisition and knowledge storage.The second level is divided into two latitudes: knowledge application and knowledge sharing.Three latitudes of knowledge innovation,knowledge exchange and knowledge reflection belongs to the third level.The three levels and seven latitudes of teachers' knowledge management constitute a complete cycle system,which runs through the whole link of senior high school teachers' teaching circuit.In the process of research the analysis methods of literature and articles related to the subject are analyzed.Questionnaires,interview outlines and other research instruments are used to collect necessary data and information.All the data collected were analyzed using methods of statistical analysis,such as the multivariate statistical software,the software and the processing of cross research results from the analysis of the data as a result.The questionnaire of this study is adapted according to some related content of domestic research.Before the questionnaire was widely distributed,a sample of 65 English teachers from senior high schools in Shandong Province was taken to test its reliability and validity.After further modification,the questionnaire Star software was distributed to the teachers and students participating in the formal survey.Finally,608 valid teacher questionnaires were collected.Analysis is all implemented by means of the Questionnaire Star software.Six senior high school English teachers are interviewed as well as a supplement by the author.There are three research questions in this study:(1)What are the attitudes and understandings of senior high school English teachers on personal knowledge management?(2)What is the situation of personal knowledge management in senior high school English teaching Development?(3)What are the factors that affect the development of personal knowledge management? We can draw the conclusion that the current educational level and professional level of senior high school English teachers have reached a considerable level.Teachers' knowledge acquisition means are single,and their ability to store,share and communicate knowledge by means of modern technology is inadequate.Modern methods among teachers are used quite inadequate in practice actually.Teachers' performance evaluation ranking results in weak willingness to share and exchange knowledge among teachers.The unsatisfactory situation of knowledge management of senior high school English teachers is due to the reasons of teachers themselves,as well as the backward methods and mechanisms of education evaluation,the outdated mode of teachers' continuing education,the disconnection between training content and teaching needs and other factors.After simply attributing these problems,this paper tries to put forward some strategies to improve the personal knowledge management ability of senior high school English teachers.1.Suggestions to the education administration department: Create a knowledge management environment to promote the knowledge management practice of senior high school English teachers;Reform the training mode of high school English teachers.2.Suggestions for schools: encourage teachers to exchange and share knowledge,develop a shared organizational culture,and enrich various information technology devices.3.Suggestions for English teachers in senior high schools: setting up a correct concept of personal knowledge management;paying close attention to improve the ability of knowledge transformation and application;reforming teacher evaluation mechanism and improving the teacher evaluation system.
