Research On Chang Jian's Poems

Chang Jian is the famous poet who lived in the flourishing Tang Dynasty.His poetry achievement was recognized in his time.Current studies of Chang Jian mainly focus on the textual research of his life and poetry analysis.This thesis,however,draws on three aspects of Chang Jian's poetry:poetic themes,art styles and formative factors of Chang Jian poem's styles.In the first chapter,it sorts the themes of Chang Jian's poems in the perspectives of content and subject.Chang Jian's poetry involves a variety of topics,covering Scenic Poems.Frontier Poems,Nostalgic Pocms.Musical Poems,Farewell Poems,Cognac Poems.etc.And this chapter mainly discusses the content and emotions of various topics.In the second chapter,it draws attention on his poetic art.The overall artistic style of Chang Jian's poetic styles can be classified into three types:secluded,clear and sad.The former two are mainly embodied in the Scenic Poems and Musical Poems while the latter is mainly embodied in the Frontier poems and Nostalgic Poems.But these three artistic styles are inherently consistent.all reflecting the wild and peaceful qualities of Chang Jian's poems.This chapter also selects the high-frequency images in his poems and analyzes the specific meaning of these images.In the third chapter,it probes into the reasons for Chang Jian wrote these poems in aspects of life experience.personality and sources of inspiration.the interactions between his life experience,characters and creative techniques,frequently lead to the formation of his own artistic styles.In terms of his tough official career.Chang Jian unfortunately never promoted to a higher position than county sheriff,which reflects the frustration for all his talents in the poems.Later he resigned from the career and wandered through landscape,his attitude towards his profession remained unsettled at first but he eventually abandoned the expectation on the original path and devoted himself into seclusion.Concerning the personality,he was not strongly persistent with the official titles because of his calmness and pessimism.Finally,as far as the creative techniques are concerned,referring to Xie Lingyun's creative methods off "JIWUXI EM AO "(depicting the scene by restoring it in every authentic detail)and "YIBUHUANJING"(describing the scene from different perspectives),he started to mimic Xie's poems through similar structures;then he created his own poetic styles.
