Discrimination of synonyms is a grammatical key point in modern Chinese teaching,as well as in the Chinese teaching to foreign students.When learning Chinese,it is difficult for foreign students to discriminate between “changchang”and“tongchang”.This thesis analysis the errors that collected from the paper survey in the hope that useful instructions for the teaching of “ changchang”and“tongchang” will be acquired,which will enable the foreign learners to understand and grasp the usage of the two words.The thesis is consisted of five parts:The first part is introduction,which mainly briefs about the origin of selected subject,the subject to be studied and to what extent it is to be studied,and relevant studies and research methods of other scholars and the source of corpus.The second part analyzes the differences between “changchang” and “tongchang” on the basis of the research achievements from previous scholars.At the semantic level,we mainly describes the difference between “changchang” and “tongchang” from their literal meaning and connotative frequency.At the syntactic level,we elaborate the differences from their positions in a sentence,tense related to them,and their co-occurrences with “dou” and other negative adverbs.The third part is the analysis on the errors made by foreign students at intermediate or senior level when using “changchang”and “tongchang”.We have specially designed a questionnaire and carefully done the statistical analysis on various forms of error.Based on the statistics,we tried to delve into the causes of such errors.The forth part is about the teaching strategy applied in the discrimination between “changchang”and “tongchang” for foreign students.In total,we put forward four teaching methods: to compare in details,to use contextual teaching,to make analysis of synonyms,and to practice repeatedly in various ways.The last part is Summary.In this chapter we elaborate the research conclusion,and point out the shortcomings and the innovation of this article. |
