Emotional inertia reflects the impedance to emotional changes. It is specifically expressed in the extent to which the individual's current emotional state can be predicted by the previous emotional state. The greater the degree of prediction, the higher the emotional inertia. The research object of emotional inertia has focused on the emotional inertia of patients with depression.Few studies have focused on the emotional inertia of mentally healthy people and other mentally ill patients. In the past, most studies focused on negative emotional inertia, but did not involve positive emotional inertia. In the past, most of the studies used emotional self-reported emotional values to examine emotional inertia, and did not use emotional autonomic response as an indicator of emotional inertia. The study consists of two parts. The first part takes 101 college students as the subjects, and selects the mental health subjects through the questionnaire. The participants are required to record the positive and negative emotions in the daily life using the empirical sampling method.A total of 50 times in continuous 5 days.In the laboratory, the film segment task method is used to record minute positive emotions and negative emotions, and at the same time collect emotional physiological indicators.Investigate the characteristics of mental inertia in hour mood and minute motion state, and whether there is inertia in the physiological indicators of emotion. In the second part.163 patients with different mental illnesses were used as subjects, and the levels of depression and anxiety were measured by the scale. The film task method was used to record positive and negative emotions,to examine the emotional inertia characteristics of mental illnesses patients, and the relationship between their depression, anxiety symptoms and emotional inertia levels.72 subjects were selected as normal control group by convenient sampling method to investigate whether there was a difference in emotional inertia between the normal control group and the mentally ill patients. The results showed that(1)undergraduate,there were inertia in both positive and negative emotions on the hour and minute scales, and there was also inertia in the physiological indicators of emotions. The emotional inertia was not related to mental health status.(2)There are differences in emotional inertia of patients with four kinds of mental illnesses. There is no inertia in positive emotions of anxiety patients, but inertia exists in negative emotions;inertia exists in positive/negative emotions of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. There is no inertia in both positive an negative emotions of depressed patients.(3)The anxiety symptoms of patients with bipolar disorder can predict the level of negative emotional inertia, and the patients with bipolar disorder with higher anxiety symptoms have higher levels of negative emotional inertia.(4)The positive emotional inertia of patients with schizophrenia and the normal control group was significantly different. The positive emotional inertia of schizophrenia was significantly higher than the normal control group.Studies have shown that except depression patients, other mental illness patients and mental health have emotional inertia;Bipolar disorder patients' anxiety symptoms can predict their negative emotional inertia level, but other mental illness patients and mental health people's emotional inertia were not related to mental health status;the positive emotional inertia of schizophrenia patients and normal subjects was significantly different.
