During the World War ?,Nazi Germany was always bothered by a complicated and tough problem—the shortage of labor.Owing to the large-scale military mobilization,the demand of war economy for labor resources,and the consideration on Nazism ideology,Germany had to choose foreign labor as a replaceable and controllable labor.Most of the European countries conquered and occupied by the Nazi Germany,had been reduced to the labor reserves of this coxmtry.Originally,There was no a comprehensive plan on recruiting foreign workers among the Nazi leadership,and foreign labor was merely regarded as a temporary stopgap measure at the beginning of the war.Consequently,there was no a consistent policy on foreign labor throughout the war.As the deterioration of military situation between 1942 and 1943,drastic changes on the recruitment,deployment,allocation and even the professional train of the foreign workers took place in Nazi Germany,and the conflict between Nazi ideology and wartime economy demand was along with this process all the time.During the War,millions of foreign workers including civilians,Prisoners of War and concentration camp inmates,served to the Nazi war economy in the territory of Third Reich.With the Nazi racism ideology as the basic principle of treating foreign workers,Nazi Germany greatly exploited and deprived foreign workers of their labor value,freedom and some basic human rights.As a result,the situation of foreign workers in Nazi Germany was quite terrible,and they did suffer a lot from this miserable experience.Such a large-scale deployment of foreign workers undoubtedly influenced greatly on Nazi Germany.For Nazi Germany,the flow of numerous foreign labor helped to keep the military machine and wartime economy,and accelerate the mobility of various social levels,then changed the ethnic composition of the German force and the social structure of Nazi Gennany.But meanwhile,the cruel forced labor system also brought obvious negative impacts,speeding up the collapse of Nazi Germany and its totalitarian rule.
