| As a special advanced thinking ability of human,creativity has attracted more and more attention.Whether the competition of companies in the market,or a country is trying to gain an edge in the global competition,it needs a strong impetus provided by creativity.Even for the progress of the entire human civilization,the promotion of creativity is incomparable.With the development of economy and the popularization of science education,China is attaching more and more importance to the cultivation of young people's creativity.Nowadays,it has become one of China's important policies to cultivate innovative talents,deepen the reform of talent development policies,and to be a country motivated by innovation-driven development.With the development of research on creativity,researchers believe that the core of creativity is creative thinking.Researchers have proposed different theories of creative thinking in order to explain how creative thinking occurs.Although there are many theories about creative thinking and which have different concerns,it can be agreed that divergent thinking is the core of creative thinking.Individuals usually need to extensively activate problem-or task-related information in the divergent thinking stage in order to find novel information.Novelty seeking trait,as the basic trait of creative personality,makes individuals to have special behavioral tendency and preference to explore all kinds of novel information and things,which is one of the important motivations for individuals to acquire novel information and knowledge.The role of novelty seeking traits in individual creative thinking has been supported by a large amount of genetics and biologic researchs,which shows the importance of novelty seeking traits in the process of creative thinking.However,untill now,no research has explored the mechanism of novelty seeking traits on creative thinking.Therefore,this study aims to explore how novelty seeking traits affect the acquisition of novel information in the process of individual creative thinking,and further explore its influence on the information integration in the process of creative thinking.In this study,the"novelty seeking trait subscale”of the"Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire,TPQ" was used to college students,and the subjects with high and low novelty seeking trait levels were selected.In experiment 1,subjects were asked to complete the Alternate use task and Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking to find out whether novelty seeking traits affect individuals'creative scores and whether such effects are limited by the form of creative thinking.In experiment 2,the subjects were required to judge whether there was a correlation between high,low,and unrelated pairs of words.According to the reaction time and accuracy rate of the subjects,it was required to e,xplore how novelty seeking traits affect the acquisition of novel information in the process of creative thinking.In experiment 3,the subjects were asked to split the two-word word into two words and make the sentence with the two words,through consensus assessment technique,the raters scored the differences between the semantics of the words split in the sentences and the original words by 5 points,and scored the suitability of the sentences by 5 points.To explore whther the role of novelty seeking traits in the acquisition of novel information will be reflected in the process of complete creative thinking,and to explore the role of novelty seeking traits in the integration of information in the process of creative thinking.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)novelty seeking trait has no effect on convergent thinking,but helps to improve the novelty in divergent thinking.(2)novelty seeking trait enhances novelty performance in creative tasks by enhancing the automatic difTfusion of concepts in individual semantic networks.(3)high novelty seeking trait can better activate the novel semantics of two words in the web of semantic,and performs better than low novelty seeking trait in integrating information. |
