“Spatial dimensional adjectives"refers to a small class of adjectives that describe the size,height,depth,length,width,and thickness of an object in space.It is mainly used to express space and spatial meanings,and shows the universality and the culture-particularity.With the development of nationalized Chinese teaching,comparative research and teaching research on such words have received more and more attention,but the research results are insufficient.Therefore,this paper attempts to propose suggestions for teaching these Chinese adjectives to Thai students through Chinese and Thai comparisons and error analysis.It is hoped that this research can deepen the understanding of the two languages of Chinese and Thai,and provide reference for the vocabulary teaching of Chinese as a second language.The research contents are as follows:First,the paper explains the reason of the topic selection and introduces the theoretical and practical significance?research methods and corpus sources.It expounds the theoretical basis?research status and existing problems of the topic.The second chapter,from the perspective of cognitive semantics and contrastive linguistics,combing dictionary definition and corpus analysis result with the author's understanding,explores the spatial meaning and the metaphorical meaning of Chinese and Thai spatial dimensional adjectives.By comparing the similarities and differences between the two languages,the difficulties that Thai students may encounter when learning the Chinese spatial dimensional adjectives can be predicted.The third chapter,based on the results of a questionnaire survey for Thai students,and interview record,analyzes the reason that contributes to spatial dimensional adjectives error by Thai students.According to the previous studies and Interviews with local teachers in Thailand,the fourth chapter puts forward the suggestions for teaching these Chinese adjective to Thai students.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,summarizing the paper and pointing out the problems and deficiencies.
