Xu Ji is one of the important members of the “Yongjia Four Spirits”poetry school in the late Southern Song Dynasty.His poetry truly reflects the spiritual outlook of the scholars at that time,and has unique artistic value.In particular,his poetry creation ideas play an important effect role in the theoretical construction of the “Yongjia Four Spirits”poetry school.Based on the political and cultural background of the late Southern Song Dynasty and the artistic trend of thought at that time,this paper focuses on Xu Ji's life and poetry achievements by sorting out his life experience and analyzing the content of 164 existing poems.The thesis is divided into three parts.It studies Xu Ji and his poems from three aspects: his life and friendship,the content of his poems and his artistic achievements.The first Chapter combs Xu Ji's life,friendship and thought.Xu Ji lived in the middle and late Southern Song Dynasty.During this period,Xu Ji was born in Jinjiang,Quanzhou,and moved to Yongjia,Wenzhou from his father's generation.His father Xu Dingge lived in Taishou,Chaozhou.Xu Ji inherited his father Yin and became an official.He successively served as director of Jian'an,director of Yongzhou and Minister of Longxi County.He moved to Wudang County and changed to Changtai County Order.He went through ups and downs in his official career,was honest and honest during his official career,and did many useful things for the people.Xu Ji was associated with some important Southern Song scholars in Yongjia area at that time,such as Xu Zhao,Zhao Shixiu and Wengjuan,fellow poets Pan Zhi,Dai Xun,Ye Shi,Xue Shishi and Shanwei,and Buddhist monks.Xu Ji was deeply influenced by Confucianism.Although he was a minor official,he actively joined and made some achievements.When he was frustrated in his official career,he also chose to practise Zen,ritual Buddha and seek spiritual relief.The second chapter discusses the ideological content of Xu Ji's poetry.Xu Ji's poems are rich in themes,both ancient and modern.There are 164 poems in “All Song Poems”.Among them,there are 94 five-character poems,12 five-character poems,22 seven-character poems,26 five-character poems and seven-character poems,and 10 five-character poems and seven-character poems.Xu Ji's poetry includes not only poems that face reality directly and embody the spirit of the times,but also poems that express their own feelings.Some of his patriotic poems express a clear understanding of the current situation of the country,and some express a desire to build a successful career and serve the country.The rest of the poems are mainly about expressing one's own feelings,which are embodied in the poems of friendship,scenery and chanting objects.The content of Xu Ji's poems truly reflects the social culture,life style,the spiritual outlook of the poets' group and their social intercourse at that time.The third chapter discusses the artistic achievements of Xu Ji's poetry.Xu Ji's opinions on poetry include: pointing out that rhythm,rhythm and word exercise are the essence of poetry art;opposing closing doors to make sentences,and putting forward that poetry has more ideas to go out;taking the Book of Songs and Lisao as the highest models of poetry creation.His creative ideas played an important role in Yongjia Four Spirits' advocacy of the theoretical construction of the late Tang Dynasty style poetry.Xu Ji is good at using a variety of poetry styles,involving rhythmic poems,quatrains and ancient styles,especially rhythmic poems.In the way of poetry creation,allusions are natural,whether describing scenery or expressing feelings and aspirations,they are in ordinary language;he also pays special attention to exercising words and sentences,and produces many good sentences.Xu Ji's poems can achieve the artistic realm of blending scenes and painting in the poems,reflecting the plain and thin artistic style.
