Chinese characters have been spreading and developing since their generation.Although the Chinese characters are generally more stable than the spoken language, their glyphs have also been evolving,There are similarities and differences in the Chinese character glyphs, which are changing during their stable development process.Chinese characters as a kind of tool are commonly used to meet the various needs of different people. Therefore, the use of Chinese characters in different populations is usually different, and thus the glyphs also change.Thirty Kinds of Zaju in the Yuan-Dynasty is the only Zaju published by Yuan people at present. The Chinese character is a shadow of the characters and glyphs used in the Yuan Dynasty.By analyzing and studying the glyphs of Thirty Kinds of Zaju in the Yuan Dynasty,it can not only reflect the general situation of Chinese characters used in the Yuan Dynasty, but also help to understand the evolution of the glyphs. This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is a general description of the glyph in Guhang in Thirty Kinds of Zaju in the Yuan-Dynasty.The total number of Chinese characters in Block printed edition of Guhang is 27,735,and there are 2,693 Character Species. The Chinese characters are sorted, counted and classified. Moreover, the selected base book was compared with the original book. The second part is based on the study of Chinese characters, which is the internal research of grapheme. The internal analysis generally includes: the increase, simplicity and replacement of Chinese character components and Chinese strokes, the influence of cursive calligraphy on the grapheme of Chinese characters. Then,we sort out the glyph changes and further summarized the types of deformations. The third part is the case of using words from the outside, such as homophone substitute grapheme,near-substitute grapheme, and interchangeable words,In addition, this part also combined with the substitutions in the text to analyze the evolution of the Yuan dynasty speech. The speech has a great influence on the use of Chinese characters. And find out some debatable points in the previous revised edition of New Revised Edition on Thirty Kinds of Zaju in the Yuan-Dynasty and make corrections. The last part is to explore the several characteristics of the evolution of grapheme in the Guhang, which included multi-form coexistence, complication and coexistence, simplification, writing arbitrariness, glyph changes the regular rules of glyph changes.Furthermore, this part investigate the social factors of glyph evolution, simplified general trend. And the internal factors such as the internal adjustment of Chinese characters are discussed. Finally, the significance of this paper for glyph research is clarified, which is reflected in the aspects of restoring Chinese characters andcorrecting errors. It reveals the influence of Chinese characters on its subsequent developments. At present, there are many books on the study of Oracle and Jinwen. There are also related monographs on the fonts of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, especially the study of the folk characters. However, there are few research works on the Chinese characters in the Yuan Dynasty. In spite of the short duration the Yuan Dynasty,it is a period that cannot be ignored in the history about the development of Chinese characters. The Chinese character grapheme in the Yuan Dynasty contributed to the traceability of modern simplified words, and were conducive to the use of word norms. They also had certain value for the study of common characters and erroneous words at that time.In this paper,we have studied the grapheme of the ancient imperial engravings in the Thirty Kinds of Zaju in the Yuan-Dynasty,and found that in the process of using Chinese characters, polymorphism coexisted, and wrote randomly the process of using Chinese characters. But it presented a simplified overall trend.Additionally, the evolution of glyphs is also regular and typed, and most of them preserve the original rationale of Chinese characters, which in turn proves the stability of the development of Chinese characters.
