Analysis And Research On Character Shaping And Aria Of Opera "Song Of Youth"

Opera "Song of Youth" is a Chinese original national opera adapted from the novel of the same name "Song of Youth" by famous Chinese writer Yang Mo.With a wide range of audience,this novel has been adapted into diversified genres(including very popular movies and TV series),which enjoy a broad mass base."Song of Youth",whose music was composed by professor Tang Jianping(the first Composing Dr.of China),is the first opera of Peking University Academy of Opera since establishment.The striking Chinese cultural elements and the life-praising ideological connotations are fully reflected in the opera,which accord with the aesthetic taste of contemporary Chinese audiences.This paper carried out detailed study and in-depth analysis on the opera "Song of Youth" from three aspects on the basis of novels,operas and relevant research materials.Firstly,from the aspect of historical background and creation background of Chinese original national opera "Song of Youth",this paper focuses on the development process of Chinese opera.Throughout history,with society's development and ever-mounting needs of culture,Chinese operas have constantly improved and perfected.Secondly,combined with historical background and the emotional changes in the course of opera development,the main characters' image building was analyzed.Lastly,some major arias by the soprano(Lin Daojing)and the tenors(Lu Jiachuan,Yu Yongze)were selected for further comprehensive and detailed analysis.Based on the basis of above study,this paper summarized the advantages and disadvantages of the opera "Song of Youth" and its enlightenment for the future development of Chinese national opera.
