Report On E-C Translation Of Articles About Distributed Energy Resources From IEEE Power&Energy Magazine

The translation materials consist of two feature articles concerning distributed energy resources collected from IEEE Power&Energy Magazine published by the IEEE Power&Energy Society.The translation of the case in America can help Chinese professionals in the relevant fields grasp the latest research and development methods for successfully developing and integrating DERs and disseminate new scientific concepts among public readers.This report contains four chapters.It introduces the background and significance of the translation project and elaborates the whole translation process.According to Newmark's Typology theory,the source text of this project is a typical informative text,which contains a large amount of terminologies and exclusive expressions in energy and power field.Newmark's communicative translation theory,combined with semantic translation theory,is adopted as the guidance for the detail translation.Some translation technics,such as splitting,conversion,restructuring and amplification are applied to make the translation work fulfill the function of transmitting information and produce on its readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the source text.
