Aggressive behavior is a common problem behavior among children, which is gradually formed in the process of children’s socialization.Aggressive behavior will not only harm the physical and mental health of others, but also affect the development of their own body and mind, personality and moral character. The causes of aggression are not single but multiple, and individual factors are one of the important reasons.Relevant studies have shown that there is a significant negative correlation between self-control and aggression.Self-control can stop specific behaviors, such as inhibiting impulse and resisting temptation. In addition,self-control can also promote the occurrence of forgiveness in some conflict situations.Forgiveness can eliminate negative emotions to contribute to the social development of children. Therefore,it is of great value to study the influence of forgiveness and self-control on children’s aggressive behaviors in order to prevent and reduce children’s aggressive behaviors. This study hypothesizes that the improvement of self-control can reduce the level of responsiveness and aggression, and the improvement of self-control can promote the occurrence of forgiveness, which plays a mediating role in the influence of self-control on responsiveness and aggression. In order to test this hypothesis,884 pupils of grade 4,5 and 6 in a primary school in Tianjin were selected as subjects in this study.Reactive and active aggression scale(including two scales of reactive aggression and active aggression),self-control self-report scale(including four scales of learning behavior, living habits, personality quality and emotional self-control)and Heartland Forgiveness Scale(including forgiveness scale)were used. The two scales of forgiveness and self-forgiveness were used to examine the effects of forgiveness and self-control on responsiveness and aggression. The results are as follows:(1)there is a negative correlation between self-control and reactive and active aggression;there is a positive correlation between self-control and forgiveness;there is a negative correlation between forgiveness and reactive and active aggression;(2)forgiveness plays a part of mediating role in the influence of self-control on reactive and active aggression;(3)In boys, lifestyle habits can influence reactive and active attacks by forgiving others, but this mediating effect does not exist among girls;in girls, personality quality can affect reactive and active attacks by forgiving others, but this The mediating effect does not exist in boys. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Self-control can negatively predict children’s reactivity and initiative aggression;(2)Self-control can directly affect children’s reactivity and initiative aggression, but also indirectly affect children’s reactivity and initiative aggression through forgiveness;(3)Boys’ habits are stronger than girls by forgiving others’reactions to reactive and active attacks.Girls’ personality quality is more powerful than for boys by forgiving others’ reactions to reactive and active attacks, and girls’ self-control for active learning against active attacks. The influence of the boys is stronger than that of the boys. The emotional control of the boys has a stronger impact on the active attacks than the girls. The forgiveness of the girls is more important to the active attacks than the boys. |
