Violent crime has a great harm to the development of the country,the order of the society and the safety of people's life and property.As a special group in psychological research,violent criminals among prisoners account for the vast majority of the total number of criminals.Compared with normal individuals in the society,the violent prisoners have been proved to show more violent and aggressive behaviors,and also have different degrees of personality disorder tendency and difficulties on regulating emotion.At present,the possible influencing process between borderline personality disorder tendency and aggressive behavior in the research needs to be further explored.Therefore,the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between borderline personality disorder tendency and aggressive behaviors in the violent criminal individuals and the possible influencing process inside this relationship.530 samples of prisoners in Tianjin were collected,among which 257 violent offenders were sifted.Reactive-proactive aggression questionnaire,the PDQ-4+ and Difficulties in emotion regulation scale were applied among these violent offenders to measuring the prediction of borderline personality disorder tendency to proactive aggression and reactive aggression,and also explored the difficulties in emotion regulation respectively and the mediating role of each dimension in it.The results of this study are as follows:(1)among these violent prisoners,the traits of borderline personality disorder of violent prisoners can significantly and positively predict reactive and proactive aggression respectively;(2)among these violent prisoners,difficulties in emotion regulation play a significant mediating role between traits of borderline personality disorder and two types of aggression;(3)among these violent prisoners,the difficulty of goal-oriented behavior plays a significant major mediating role on the relationship between reactive aggression and borderline personality disorder traits;difficulty in impulse control plays a major mediating role on the relationship between reactive aggression and borderline personality disorder traits.The above results show that among violent offenders,the tendency of borderline personality have significant influence on their proactive and reactive aggression.At the same time,emotional regulation difficulties can mediate this effect.Among the factors of difficulties in emotional regulation,the difficulty of impulse control is the most important mediating factor for proactive aggression,while the difficulty of goal-directed behavior is the most important mediating factor for reactive aggression.
