Xulou Chunqiu Tomb is located in the west of Xulou Village,Zaozhuang City,Shandong Province. In 2009,Zaozhuang Museum and other cultural relics departments carried out rescue excavation of Xulou tomb, making a number of exquisite bronze wares available. The discovery of these two tombs provides valuable material archaeological data for the study of the diversified cultural features of the ancient Qi-Chu border area.During the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Zhou Dynasty had lost its power to command the princes, and all the princes and states had hegemony in succession. In Shandong Province,a number of small countries had arisen. With the expansion of powers by various princes and states, the emperor-general who was separated from the territory and belonged to the people also took the opportunity to rise and control the government, resulting in a fierce power struggle between the princes and the emperor-general and the emperor-general.This contention for political power led to the overstepping of hierarchy and etiquette. This overstepping phenomenon is clearly reflected in bronze culture, which has led to the formation of different cultural circles in bronze culture in different regions, especially in the casting of artifacts after the middle and late Spring and Autumn Period. In the Spring and Autumn Period, the princes and officials of various countries made a large number of bronzes to show their strong influence, and strengthened their style of personality and regionality, which made the bronze culture more colorful.Although countries in various regions are independent, the types and production styles of their implements are still influenced by the traditional cultural styles of the Zhou Dynasty, inheriting their original characteristics, and on this basis, the cultures of different countries exchange and interact with each other. Finally, their unique local style is formed. The style of the unearthed implements of Xulou Tomb just reflects the social scene of this period. This paper mainly takes the exquisite bronze containers unearthed in the two tombs of Xulou as the research material and takes them as the main research object.Especially,it analyses and studies the characteristics of various types, patterns and combination of the implements of the burial bronze containers. Then,it compares and analyses the implements of other tombs, and then carries out a general dynastic study of the times they belong to.Later, through the analysis of the tombs. The study of burial custom judges its cultural system, and carries on the cultural factor analysis to the cultural connotation contained in Xulou's tomb.At last,it deduces the identity status and social rank of the owner of the tomb by combining the inscriptions and historical background information. The study shows that the absolute age of the two tombs in Xulou can be preliminarily determined as the middle and late Spring and Autumn Period.Their cultural attributes include the Central Plains culture, the native Dongyi culture and the Chuyue culture, which shows that the cultural exchanges between the region and other regions are frequent and their cultural features are diversified.
