The phrase "jishi" can be followed by both assumptions and facts. This phenomenon has long been recognized by the academic community.Mr.Xing Fuyi(1985),when studying "jishi" sentence, has divided it into "jishi+assumptions" and "jishi+facts"."Assumption" means what did not happen or what will not happen;"fact" represents what has happened. And he specifically discussed "jishi+facts".Based on the existing research of researchers, this paper focuses on "jishi+facts" of modem Chinese and tries to explore its causes. This article consists of five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the reasons and research significance of this paper, and summarizes the current research status of "jishi" sentence in the academic circle. Moreover,it explains the theoretical basis, the research methods and the source of the corpus.Chapter 2,chapter 3 and chapter 4 are the main parts of this article. In the second chapter, the description and classification of "jishi+facts" are thoroughly discussed.By analyzing the corpus and combining the classification of the predecessors,we follow the relationship with the pre-context to describe "jishi+facts"from three aspects:1)The pronouns in the "jishi" clause refer to the pre-context;2)the semantic relationship between ttjishiM clause and the context can be classified into three main categories:supplementary, explanation and summary;3)As for the pragmatic relationship between "jishi",clause and the context, there are several pragmatic effects. For example,"jishi+facts" can weaken the importance of the information in "jishi"clause,as well as emphasize the information. It can also show modesty and euphemism of the speaker and the mood of frustration and resolution.Furthermore, the subjectivity of the speaker can be strengthened, etc. The third chapter mainly analyzes the reasons why "jishi" clause can express facts. We believe that there are five main reasons.1.The evolution of the vocabulary meaning of "jishi" and "ye":this article mainly talks about the impact of the meaning eclipse of"jishi" and the meaning of "ye""similarity" on the formation of this sentence;2.The stimulation of the contextual meaning:it needs to be in a certain context.3.The requirements of innovation consciousness:peopled requirements for accurate expression promote the formation of this sentence;4.The influence of translation works:when translating western works, some foreign expressions gradually enter the modern Chinese system, thus affect the present language form;5.The penetration and overlapping of the conversion of virtual and real in complex sentences and their adjacent categories. The combined effect of these five aspects contributes to the semantic change of "jishi"sentence that is usually used to express assumptions, and can also be used to express facts. The fourth chapter compares "jishi+facts" with "jishi+assumptions" and "suiran"sentence, and further reveals the characteristics of "jishi+facts" in the comparison. We find that "jishi+facts" and "jishi+assumptions" are not only different in forms and semantics, but also have significant differences in pragmatic values, which can't be confused. The fifth chapter is the conclusion, summarizing the main content of this article.
