With the global aging process and increasing attention to cognitive health of the elderly, cognitive aging and plasticity has become a hot research issue in the fields of cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience and biomedical science. This study captures the social hot spot and meets the need of the times. From the perspective of memory refresh function and conversion function, the thesis focuses on the declining mechanism of the central execution function as well as the effect and possible effect of Tai Chi Chuan and Square Dance on the executive function of the elderly. The research purposes, main research methods, and research findings of the study are as follows.Research purpose:Research one is to investigate the influence of age on refresh and transition of executive function and its possible mechanism based on the control of exercise volume, taking women college students without routine exercise history and the women elderly with normal aging as the object of study.Research two is to explore the malleability of the executive function of the elderly and the influence of different exercise and exercise time on the executive function of the elderly, taking the women elderly who perserve in routine exercise including Tai Chi Chuan and Square Dance and women elderly who had no history of routine exercise as the objects.Research methods:The classical N-back and More-odd shifting experimental paradigms were used to measure and evaluate the refresh and transition execution functions respectively. The event-related potential technique(ERP)with high time resolution was used to monitor the cognitive processing process in real time,in order to provide more reference indexes for the aging and improvement of the executive function from the perspective of behavioral measurement level and the neuroelectrophysiological level.Research conclusion:(1)Aging will cause the deterioration of executive function and first threaten the neural network in the parietal lobe.(2)The developing trends of refreshment and executive transition function are basically the same, more obvious in the more difficult cognitive tasks. To some extent, the decline of refreshment and executive transition function contribute to the decline of general cognitive control ability.(3)The decline of executive function in the women elderly was mainly manifested by the decrease of the amplitude of P300 in the upper and late stage of parietal lobe.To some extent, the decline of executive function is related to the lower efficiency of top-down processing such as cognitive evaluation and behavioral decision-making in the later stage of cognitive processing.(4)The central executive function has certain plasticity. The multi-modal exercise intervention of Tai Chi Chuan and Square Dance can to a certain extent delay the decline process of refreshment and executive transition function caused by aging.(5)The influence mechanism of different sports on executive function is not entirely consistent.Tai Chi Chuan focuses on improving the accuracy of executive function of the women elderly, while Square Dance focuses on improving the response rate of executive function of the women elderly.(6)Insisting on exercise time is an important factor affecting the effect of Tai Chi Chuan on the improvement of executive function.Only long-term adherence to regular Tai Chi Chuan exercise or accumulation of exercise effect to a certain extent can substantive improvement of executive function be achieved.
