A Project Report On E-C Translation Of Museum Interrnational

The Chinese version of Museum International is an academic journal,making its own contribution to Chinese museums' development and heritage protection.Through Supervisor's introduction,the author gets involved in the English to Chinese translation of the Museum International,and writes this project report based on two translated articles.This report chooses Peter Newmark's communicative translation theory as guidance.He proposes that the text analysis serves as the foundation for translation,and corresponding methods should be taken for different types of texts.He also points out that translators are expected to achieve the same effect of the original,making the translation clear and coherent.This report analyzes the difficulties at lexical,syntactic and semantic level and tried to offer solutions to them.For example,conversion,domestication can be used in lexical translation.The voice can be changed in translation while necessary,and omission can also be used to smooth the translation.As for the long sentence,dividing and reorganizing sentence structures are very necessary.In the conclusion part,the author makes a reflection on the report.
