For decades,the frequent occurrence of extreme global climate events has brought a great deal of disastrous impacts on all fields in the world,making climate change become a most unprecedented challenge to date.The environmental and climate challenges encountered by China,the world's second largest economy,in its development have both similarities and differences compared with those facing developed countries.Promisingly,a number of practices and researches have proved that national intervention can mitigate climate change effectively.Since the governments of Kevin Rudd,Australia has performed actively in confronting climate change,successfully reshaping its international image in the field of climate and environmental protection.It is of great significance for China to draw experience from Australia in confronting climate change due to the fact that these two countries have similar energy structure.2017 Review of Climate Change Policies,one of the latest review reports,is a collection of Australia's climate change policies.On this account,translating this text may provide reference for China in improving its environmental quality and optimizing its energy development and consumption structure.This report consists of five parts.The first part makes an introduction to the translation program,including its background,significance,as well as the type and features of the original text.Part Two is about the translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation and post-translation review.Part Three is an overview of Theory of Translation Variation and its strategies,demonstrating the feasibility of the theory in this program.In Part Four,Theory of Translation Variation is applied to analyze the translation process from the application of four translation variation strategies,i.e.addition,editing,combining and narrating,in the form of case study.Finally,the author claims the feasibility of Theory of Translation Variation and its strategies in translating informative texts,summarizes specific translation methods used in this program,and then concludes lessons and gains learned from this translation program.It is hoped that this report could serve as a reference for informative translation.
