This report is based on the translation practice of three articles in Wang Meng's Essays on Learning and Culture,and guided by functional translation theory,to explore its specific translation strategies and methods in literary text translation.In these three articles,the author's thoughts are unique and insightful.Through the discussion of the humanistic spirit,the analysis of Picasso and the description of the relationship between the text and the writer,the author had expressed his unique personal opinions.The author's pursuit of humanistic spirit and appealling to the writers arouse the readers' thinking.The writing style of the essay is atypical,with flexible language and sentence structure,multiple parallelism and interrogative sentences,and subjective expression of personal feelings.This practice report consists of four parts.The first part is the translation project description,including the project background,text analysis,purpose and significance.The second part is the description of translation process,including pre-translation preparation,translation process and post-translation proofreading.The third part introduces the Skopos Theory and its four main principles,and discusses the specific application of this translation practice from the aspects of documentary translation and instrumental translation,and summarizes the methods of literary text translation under the guidance of Skopos Theory.The last part is the author's harvest in translation practice.
