Study On The Support Of Veterans Or Demobilized Servicemen From Mainland China To The Construction Of Xinjiang During The Period From 1955 To 1985

Xinjiang has vast territory,relatively few population,backward agriculture and weak foundation of modern industry.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,it is necessary to develop and construct Xinjiang on a large scale in order to change the backward and poor outlook of Xinjiang with weak industrial base.Only when Xinjiang's economy is restored and developed can the people's material life and cultural level be improved,To safeguard the unity of the motherland and the unity of the people of all ethnic groups.Therefore,in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China,in order to speed up the social development of Xinjiang,the state mobilized and organized demobilized servicemen and veterans,border-supporting youth,educated youth personnel go to Xinjiang for its develop and construction.As a special group of people organized by the state,veterans and demobilized servicemen from inland China began to migrate to Xinjiang in the mid-1950 s and kept doing so until the late 1980 s.For a period of more than 30 years,they came from a wide range of sources and came to Xinjiang in a concentrated time.After the veterans and demobilized servicemen relocated to Xinjiang,the autonomous region and the production and construction corps took active measures to formulate relevant policies for their reception and resettlement.Veterans and demobilized servicemen relocating to Xinjiang played an important role in consolidating border defense and speeding up the development and construction of border areas.Especially after the "Yita Incident",they have made new contributions in stabilizing and restoring the border economy,safeguarding national unity and defending the motherland.This paper consists of four parts.Part 1 According to the overall situation of the country in the early days of the people's Republic of China and the specific reality of Xinjiang,analyzes the reasons why veterans and demobilized servicemen from inland went to Xinjiang.Part 2 systematically sorts out the scale Source and characteristicsof veterans and demobilized servicemen entering Xinjiang,This paper focuses on the reception and placement of the veterans and demobilized servicemen in the mainlandafter they moved into Xinjiang.Part 3 summarizes the contribution of veterans and demobilized servicemen from inland coming to Xinjiang,This paper analyzes the problems in the process of resettlement of veterans and demobilized servicemen in the mainland.Finally,the Conclusion Part summarizes the reasons,process and significance of veterans and demobilized servicemen from inland relocating to Xinjiang,as we as the reference for the stability and long-term security of the present Xinjiang society.
