The objects of the present paper are those painting artist who graduated from the universities inland and worked in Xinjiang at the beginning of New China (1949-1966), to discuss their value and contribution to art history of new China from a historical perspective. On the study of art history, the study of some group of artists should restore their times situation as possible as we can. We can not study it in isolation from its social context, and the creation of works of art can not separate with the times and the spirit of the times. So this paper analyzed the personal fate and paintings of these painters, as well as their Contribution to modern and contemporary art in Xinjiang from the beginning of New China'national and cultural policy in Xinjiang, economic status, cultural environment, historical background and other factors as initial. The conclusion is:These painting artists combined western painting and traditional learning experience in the painting in Xinjiang, and gradually formed their own style. They try to create the new painting that has both Xinjiang Features and without losing a traditional means, in order to meet the customs frontier of Xinjiang. They are the founders of paintings of modern and contemporary in Xinjiang, and had a profound influence to the development of contemporary Chinese painting of Xinjiang. Their works of art can be used for a literature of their era, not only has the spirit of the age at that time, but has more national spirit of the Xinjiang region. Therefore, from a historical perspective, this group of artists and their works with the social significance are far beyond its artistic quality, and becoming an artist group in the frontier country in the new milestone in New Chinese art history. This is also the original intention of writing paper: to find a correct position for the artist community in the new history of Chinese art, to pay a wider attention to it and deeper thinking of Young Artist of Xinjiang through the study of this topic, to better in pass on and develop art career in Xinjiang.This paper tries to understand the social background at the time by the literature method, and to further elucidate and explore the development and changes in Xinjiang Chinese painting by historical analysis of this particular era of political, social, and cultural backgrounds; it obtains the first-hand information by interviews and directly reflects the real situation of Chinese Painting of the early development of Xinjiang in the beginning of New china; typical case study method and image analysis method is widely used in the paper; meanwhile, it also combines many methods, such as cultural anthropology, sociology, communication and so on.
