Painting With Calligraphy:Jinnong Painting Art Research

Jinnong is one of the most literati painters among Yangzhou Eight Eccentrics.He is very knowledgeable and famous for poetry,writings and paintings.Jin Nong's paintings have various themes,often incorporating calligraphy into paintings,almost writing inscription in each painting,and almost every inscription became a poem.His works are not limited to the ancient principle,but also create a unique path.In Chinese painting,calligraphy and painting have an inseparable relationship.Since ancient times,there has been a saying that "calligraphy and paintings have the same origin." Starting from the first hieroglyphics,it forms the evolutionary direction of homologous and different flow with calligraphy,and gradually develops into an expression of image and visual space,a demonstration of the overall relationship between poetry,calligraphy and paintings.Jin Nong lived in the middle of the Qing Dynasty,which was the heyday of the development of calligraphy and painting acme of artistic development.Jin Nong relies on his profound poetry and calligraphy skills and apply it to his paintings.He perfectly combines poetry,calligraphy and paintings to achieve the supreme realm of "painting and calligraphy".Chinese painting's spatial structure is the ultimate visibility of the combination of images through pens,lines,and titles.In Jin Nong's paintings,"calligraphy and painting ",as a kind of spatial expression,reflects the Imagination of its spatial characteristics.This is the cultural consciousness and pursuit goal of the development of Chinese painting art,the expression of Chinese cultural self-confidence,and the indispensable value of Chinese painting theory.This paper is based on the "painting and calligraphy in the same work" as the proposition of Jin Nong's painting art research,draws on the relevant research results of modern times based on the existing literature research.By using the modern western visual perception theory and combining its imagination characteristics,this paper conducts an in-depth study on the spatial expression of Jin Nong's painting works,affirming the influence and value of Jin Nong's painting art of "painting and calligraphy in the same work" in the development of modern painting,and opening a window to re-understand the Chinese painting tradition.
