In the Qing Dynasty, most of the writers took famous Fu from the Northern and Southern Dynasties as the target of imitation.According to the Fu imitated from the ancient the author have selected from Confluence of Cifu in Successive Dynasties and Documents of the Study of Fu in Successive Dynasties, about 900 Fu imitated from the ancient,300 of them were imitated from that in the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In the pre-Qing dynasty, there were little Fu imitated from the Northern and southern Dynasties,in which, there were one imitation for Fu of Snow and Fu of Departure, three imitations for Fu of Pity.Compared with that in other time periods, people in the Qing Dynasty were more concentrated when choosing the target of imitation.A total of 39 works from 13 masters were chosen, especially works like Fu of Small Garden,Fu of a Dancing Crane,Fu of the Moon and Fu of Shooting on Horse in Hualin Garden on March 3.A trend of learning from famous works was presented. The author focuses on the imitation in the Qing Dynasty of Fu from the Northern and Southern Dynasties.By comparing the similarities and dissimilarities of the imitative and original works, the author is able to feel how the writers in the Qing Dynasty pay tribute to the original works in the Northern andSouthern Dynasties.By doing this, the author can also forecast the acceptance, dissemination and canonization of famous Fu from the Northern and Southern Dynasties in the Qing Dynasty. This paper is divided into four chapters to elaborate the works in the Qing Dynasty imitated from that of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. In the first chapter, the author dates back to the development of Fu imitated from the ancient in the previous dynasties.Putting the famous works imitated from the Northern and Southern Dynasties in the development courses of the imitative works in the previous dynasties, the author observes their features. In the Qing dynasty, most of the imitative works have the word “imitate” on the propositions. The imitative targets people chose were also more diversified. From the records of propositions of imitative works in the documents of the study of Fu,we can see that imitation had become a type of Fu by and by in the Qing Dynasty. In the second chapter, the author mainly analyses the reasons why writers in the Qing Dynasty imitated the famous Fu in the Northern and Southern Dynasties from two aspects.Firstly, the collecting selection of Fu and the regulated verses in Qian,Jia and Dao period had some kind of Fu style, influenced by which, short Fu of parallel style in the Northern and Southern Dynasties wonfavors of imitative writers. Then, the frequency of imitative propositions in imperial examinations, especially the assessment by the imperial academy caused uneven development of the works imitated from famous ones in the Northern and Southern Dynasties objectively. In the third and fourth chapter, the author analyses what changes writers in the Qing Dynasty made in the original works from the theme and form. There were two tendencies of change: following the original meaning and breaching the original meaning. All in all,the latter one was more challenging than the former one.The changes mainly include that of genre, structure and language. The value of imitation lies not in whether the imitative works reach the same artistic level as the original ones, but in the more specific criticism and deeper dissemination than that of general readers for the reason that writers in the Qing Dynasty had a deeper reading and understanding of the original works when imitating. This is undoubtedly very important for famous Fu in the Northern and Southern Dynasties to be canonized in the Qing Dynasty.
