Food is absolutely necessary in people's lives.It has close relationship with social life.Also,restaurants is main places of food and usually the formation of the catering feature in an area results from the long term development of the local politics,economy and culture.This paper selects restaurants as study subject,and studies restaurant in Beijing during 1912-1927.It analyzed the related information of restaurants,such as distribution,number,scale,kind.Besides,it also studies special restaurants in Beijing and famous people related to those restaurants.The first chapter mainly analyzes the development environment of Beijing restaurants in the period of 1912-1927 from the aspects of natural geographical factors and political,economic and demographic factors.The second chapter is based on documents and travel guides,analyzes the distribution of the restaurant,statistics of different period the number of the restaurant and its changes,in addition to the evolvement of Beijing restaurant according to its business scale and the content is divided into the restaurant,restaurant,restaurant,and introduces in detail the differences,and other restaurants according to the different registered capital can be divided into the high-end,midrange restaurants and the public.The third chapter introduces the characteristic restaurants in Beijing,and analyzes the reasons for their development.First,it is to meet the living needs of foreigners in Beijing at that time.Based on the two travel guides published in Japan in the early republic of China,this paper summarizes the situation of Japanese restaurants in Beijing in the early republic of China.In addition,there are also palace-style restaurants and halal restaurants in Beijing,which jointly prove the diversified development of Beijing restaurants in the early republic of China and reflect the diversified culture of Beijing.The fourth chapter mainly to sort out the different social functions of the restaurant,in addition to entertainment venues and banquet venues,the restaurant is also a good place for dating.
