With the improvement of China's international influence,the number of foreign students coming to China to learn Chinese is increasing year by year.One of the important reasons is that they have a good view of China's unique Chinese acquisition environment.Studies have proved that the target language environment has a direct impact on foreign students' listening and speaking abilities.What about their reading and writing abilities? In addition to learning Chinese in the courses offered by schools,foreign students can also read Chinese after class.Chinese after class reading is also an important way for foreign students to increase their vocabulary,consolidate their grammar,understand Chinese culture,increase their background knowledge and develop their reading and writing abilities.In the target language environment,foreign students should fully discover and utilize the resources and advantages that can improve their listening,speaking,reading and writing abilities.What are the Chinese resources that foreign students can read after class in China? How do foreign students use these resources? What are the problems? How to overcome it? This is a subject worthy of our study and consideration.In this paper,the use of Chinese extracurricular reading resources of foreign students in advanced stage is investigated by using literature research method and questionnaire survey method.Based on the relevant theories,this paper makes an objective and systematic analysis and exposition of the results of the survey,and tries to find out the problems existing in the utilization of extracurricular reading resources by foreign students at the intermediate and advanced stages,to explore the causes,and to put forward feasible suggestions and strategies for the utilization of extracurricular reading resources by foreign students in the light of previous studies and their own understanding.It is helpful for students to use Chinese extracurricular reading resources and improve their Chinese proficiency.
