A Study Of Chu Palace Banquet Dance Take "Chime Bell Music And Dance" As An Example

Chu has a history of only 800 years,but culture is an important historical thread of Chinese civilization.As early as the Shang Dynasty,the Chu people were regarded as barbarians in the Central Plains and were forced to move southward.Until the establishment of the Zhou Dynasty,the tribes of the Chu people were renamed the State of Chu.In the Spring and Autumn Period,from King Chucheng to Sun Man of the Zhou Dynasty,"No more tripod in virtue",based on profound cultural connotations,the importance of spiritual culture was put forward.From then on,he led the Chu Kingdom to prosperity.Later,in the period of King Chu Ling,although political civilization did not grow steadily,on the cultural level,King Chu Ling built Zhanghuatai,renovated the Yuefu system in the palace,and raised the level of artists.These original dance historical materials handed down provide valuable wealth and resources for the later study of Chu culture and dance undertakings.Although Chu was extinct,Chu dance was widely spread and endured.The court banquet dance of the State of Chu is characterized by long sleeves and thin waists,which is loved by later generations."Banquet music and dance" is a kind of music activity which is related to banquet and joy in court and is carried out around music.In different dynasties and on various occasions,the functional nature is not the same,and the form of performance will also change.As a large-scale dance work in Hubei Province,"Chime Bell Music and Dance" occupies a place in the history of Chinese dance development.The dance style and instrument performance are strictly regulated.In the part of banquet music and dance,the choreographers strictly require the prototype of dance posture with unearthed cultural relics images,and strive to reproduce the large-scale banquet dance scene of Chu Palace.This work has two editions,the first edition and the new edition.By comparing the two editions,the author tries to find out the similarities and differences between them,to see the development relationship between their inheritance and innovation,and to elaborate on the positive influence of the two editions on the court banquet music and dance of the State of Chu.
