A Study Of Marcuse’s Hedonism

With the progress of social productivity and the improvement of people’s material living standards,but people’s spiritual world is gradually showing a kind of empty phenomenon.Most people lose their pursuit of the most authentic state of life for the sake of life,lose their inner sense of happiness and their pursuit of freedom,happiness and passion.People’s mental health has also experienced a serious decline,and it is difficult to find themselves.Happiness.To study Marcuse’s hedonism is to solve people’s current mental state and living situation and to enhance people’s happiness and passion.This paper takes Marcuse’s hedonism as the topic,combines comparative study,literature review and logical analysis,and first expounds the theoretical origin of Marcuse’s hedonism.From the perspective of ancient Greece,modern times and contemporary times,it analyses and interprets Marcuse’s thought inheritance and innovation,from a simple definition of happiness to the principle of happiness generally followed by society.Thus produced his happy thought of freedom,overall harmony and emancipation.Secondly,the connotation of Marcuse’s hedonism is interpreted and discussed.Firstly,the concept of hedonism is interpreted,and then two of his most classic works are studied in depth,namely One-Dimensional Man and Eros and Civilization.The former analyses the drawbacks of one-dimensional from three aspects: criticizing one-dimensional people,one-dimensional thoughts and one-dimensional society to reveal the loss of human essence,the rescue of non-repressive thoughts and the totalitarian society caused by technological progress.The latter also interprets the pursuit of human liberation from three aspects,namely,the liberation of love,aesthetic liberation and so on.The pursuit of the new revolutionary theory realizes the pursuit of individual happiness,the higher survival and maintenance of art,and the realization of the theory of civilized development.Finally,the practical significance of Marcuse’s hedonism is explained.Based on contemporary society,this paper puts forward the positive significance of hedonism in both society and citizens,which is of great practical value to the construction of a harmonious socialist society and the healthy and optimistic mentality of citizens.This paper mainly discusses Marcuse’s hedonism in detail,highlighting the importance of the hedonism,but also highlights the important position of Marcuse in his era and the positive significance of the current society.
